My mate managed to obtain a brand new one from Currys which was very cheap as an ex display model. He got it home and now its asking for a Password as soon as its turned on. Currys claim its nowt to do with them......They havent a clue....
Ive tried the usual battery trick and nothings changed. New Hard Drive as well and nothings happening.
It appears the pwd request is like DELL which is hard-wired into the processor. Is there anything I can do to by pass this daft password as I cant even access the BIOS?
I was thinking I could reflash or short the BIOS chip onboard, but the board looks pretty cheap. Onboard RAM (non-upgradeable) etc....
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks Lads...............
PS...Any default passwords?
Heres whats happening when I turn it on............

BTW....Odd thing this.............
Whilst removing the Battery (CMOS) I noticed the Hard Disk has 304194 wrote on it in black marker. This is not the Pasword BTW......Wonder what thats about?
