I used to be able to scan with my Brother HL-2280DW but not anymore. I had everything installed last year, but I think a recent update borked it. I can still print but simple-scan or xsane won't detect a scanner. Please help me figure out how to solve this. I looked at explainations from other people with a similar problem but they don't help me. I'm hooked up via wireless, if that matters.

uninstall the driver and do a registry clean then install from the disc that came with the printer and see if that works
or
you might be able to roll back the driver by clickin start and then devices and printer then Print server properties (across the top tab) and then click drivers then select your printer and click properties and properties again then click previous version and roll back the driver
