    Help with advent gaming GX9000

    I know this is a old desk top, but all I want to do is wipe it clean and if I can install windows 8 on it. Currently it's running xp.
    I have googled numerous questions but have not found answer yet.

    I have been told to tap f8 or f9 on startup to get into boot menu, and re boot from there with a hidden partition, can't find this.

    I also have NO boot disc.

    I have another laptop, can I download and copy a boot disc, for this advent?

    I have never done anything like this befor and will need easy instructions.

      I don't know which version of windows 8 you are installing so check this out it might work for you to do a clean install. How to perform a clean installation of Windows - Windows Help

      There are 100 plus ways to do what you want.

          This might be a silly question do I have to buy windows 8, or can I obtain it else were?
