Seems like there is few people managed to fix the problem by using different brand memory and 1 of them had Nanya similar to your one when he had a problem. If you can find another ddr2 chip from a friend try it instead of the nanya.
My experience hasnt been good with Asus Support either. Just for safe side before buying anything make sure to try another memory from a friend incase memory compatibility is not the issue ...
Always try to get matching pairs of modules from the same manufacturer. It's a nightmare I know but in my experience you often find that some manufactures just don't play nice with other manufactures even though the timings are the same.
I often get laptops in for repair with additional memory that a customer has purchased seperately, that, once removed cure all problems.
I currently on eBay with a saved search for the specific memory that's in my tower and when one comes up at the right prices I'll throw down on it as I know that getting the same Manufacturer, Latency, Timings, Speed etc I'm doing everything I can to limit the possible number of problems I'll face.
Next time I think I'll buy a kit, 2x2Gb modules for example just to save myself a headache!
