Nero wont install

[asaintuntilidie]

Hi guys, I've got a problem and I think it might be a virus or a trojan or such like. What it is is that I cant install the copy of nero I have. It just gets halfway through and crashes. Any help would be appreciated by anyone in the know. I have tried everything that I can think of. Also, what makes me think it maybe somekind of malware is that I cannot get windows updates and think this may be the root of whats going on.

I've tried installing all versions, all come up with the same error warning, a gray nero installer message

As far as I can remember it said an error occured and nero cannot continue or something like that....

Either boot into safe mode and try, or run msconfig from the run menu and disable allot of your processes from the startup.

Sounds like a conflict somewhere, either you need to disable other processes or boot into safe mode, also your anti virus could be stopping the instal if its 1 off the internet pirate sources.

Also thats allot of processes for a win xp platform, that can run off 19 or so processes.

I remember similar problem with instalshield temporary files or whatever , could your problems be similar to whatever package nero is using. Have you cleaned all temporary files etc?
