packard bell black screen

hi, my packard bell tj61 laptop is showing a blank screen.iv'e done memory in each slot.power down for 50 secs,power back with adaptor.put hdmi lead in through tv.put it through a comp monitor but all to no avail.it still tries to boot, but after a few secs, it stops.it did beep once but now nothing.any ideas?. cheers,

busted display cable probably chewed up withing the hinges of the screen lid or the inverter is broken or the graphics card is busted overheated

Could be a number of things. As it beeped once, look for a manual of the motherboard, look for error beeps in refernece to yours.

To me could be a number of things, Main board, cpu, ram issue is most likley cause
