Win7 sound issue

I have a pc running windows 7 home premium, fully up to date with all releases and service pack installed.
I put the pc into sleep mode with the volume set at 100%, upon resuming from sleep mode the volume will always drop to 67%.
I have tried everything I can think of, driver updates, driver uninstall/ reinstall etc etc, nothing solves this issue.
Anyone know of a solution because I am all out of ideas.

Just a shot in the dark but maybe the 67% sound is a default/standard setting so that when you rouse it out of sleep mode then that is what it defaults to.
