antivirus refuses to uninstall

I am trying to clean a win7 - 2 gb memory netbook that had slowed to nearly a stop. I ran ccleaner, adw cleaner, de-fragged and uninstalled some crap. This has helped but now Norton and AVG (which conflict) refuse to uninstall. Any recommendations for something that will get rid and a good lightweight av to replace these memory munchers?

hi m8, download revo uninstaller that will get rid of ur unwanted program's..

Both of those antivirus programs have uninstallers, you need to download them from their web sites.

Try to end the process from task manager and delete manualy after

i use avast on all my stuff.

They fought me all the way, especially Norton kicking and screaming but Revo finally got rid. Its better but still sluggish, isn't there sw for detecting unnecessary stuff running, something is still hitting the brakes. Will get rid of IE for something lightweight too, don't think its helping.
