Sorry but I have to disagree with you purely coz I'm not a lightweight user as you so called it. My rig is used daily as a number of things. & the boot up is blazing, <40secs

And as for the rest of use once fully loaded. It's flying and no complaints there. Only criticisms I have is for when I'm rendering something. But I know that's more to do with my GFX cards rather than the actual OS.

But anyways, good luck in getting your setup working up to par.

my setup is fine mate, just this windows 7 ultimate x64 that something isnt right with, before any system drivers or any other stuff is installed it boots in like 45seconds and thats with full windows aero graphics and everything on, then after taking all the windows imporatnt updates and latest drivers for my hardware from my component manufacturers websites, thats when windows starts to boot longer in like 1 minute 15 seconds or so, could be problems with microsoft and hardware drivers for some stuff, looks like that to me, in other words, its not thoughrouly tried and tested as usual with microsoft, bunch of bellends. grrrrrrrrrrrr...

Surely if its a driver issue then the fault lays with the manufacturer of so called hardware to update their drivers to work with the operating system. It's been like that for many years now. I remember for example when Vista came out NVIDIA went through many dodgy drivers. That's why Microsoft will RTM and then do the public official release a Month or so down the line. To give the manufacturers a chance to get things working.

The drivers that you're installing now are they for Vista or Win 7?
