pluscom wireless problem intermittent

hi
i have got a pluscom wireless card fitted and im using a sky netgear router,
my connection is usually ok although can only get just under 1mbps in my area.
anyway it sometimes stops working, ive opened the wireless utility and the connection is intermittent(i mean 2 seconds on 2 seconds off endlessly)
switching my pc on and off usually cures it temporarily, and switching from pluscom config to zero wireless config works temporarly but does anybody know what my problem is.

check signal strength might need a better position of router or wirleless card

also check to see if you have latest firmware for the router and latest driver for the card.

log into your router and turn OFF upnp.

the sky firmware is shit and as the boys didnt seem to have any clue wtf they where doing they shafted the upnp feature causing the router to go intermittent when its on.

its not the signal, dont know about firmware or drivers, ill have to check not sure how to update firmware either ill have to read up on it.
about the intermittent thing,its quite exact, like a clock ticking.

ive switched the upnp off and ill see how it goes.
i thought that it would probably be more to do with the pluscom card in my pc, or maybe the utility software
there are 2 utilty's which came with the card, 1 is pluscom wireless utility, the other is soft ap utility,(1 of these says it is station mode.) and then theres m.s. wireless zero which i could use, what do you recomend.
i should have checked whether or not it was doing it on our lass's laptop when i have the problem.
