    XP wont load

    I stupidly switched on my pc at the wall now when i go to
    turn it on the windows xp screen goes on then after that all i get is a blank screen i tried a repair using a xp disk but had no joy it only goes so far then stops. tried to just install windows again and it goes as far as checking for previous operating systems then stops. i aint got a clue might it mean a new harddrive?? or can anyone help me fix it hope so

    have tried safe mode and then if you can system restore?

        Download a copy of the Hiren BootCD and run some diagnostics on your Hard disk to see if you have an issue there first...

        download from the link in here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-2009-a-53409/

        you will also be able to boot into a live version of windows with this CD to enable you to copy your files and drivers of in case you need to do a reload..

          Do you have any usb devices attached? ie a hard drive. If so disconnect it and reboot.

            I think the problem comes from you harddisk.You might need a new one or try to repair first.Good luck
