External Drive Problem

So I bought a new external drive, brilliant i thought... store all my stuff on there. So I go to extract some rar files and an error pops up, won't let me store a file larger than 4gb unless its NTS something...

Help anyone?
How can I change its format?

what operating system are you using?

If you're using XP or Vista just go to my computer, right click on your drive, select format

It should bring up a box and the second option should be file system. under there select NTFS and I'm sure you can take it from there!
