    Can't safely remove hardware

Help! my pc is not letting me "safely remove hardware". Namely my 1tb external hard drive ,no option to eject either. Just says it can't ,try later. I don't want to just pull it out in case I ~~~~ it up. Any advice? Thnx in advance

    PULL IT OUT!!!!!!

or you could right click on the device under "my computer" go to the "hardware" tab ans click the properties button after highlighting the device.

now in "Policies" there will be two radial buttons, the one saying optimize for quick removal" and make sure caching and advanced are unticked.

the only reason that you wont be able to safely remove it will be because a file on it is being accessed by something or other after that.

This happens a lot with my ipod so much so that i just unplug it now and ive never had a problem other than it needing the odd occasional reset.
He who laughs last thinks slowest.

the file attempts to fix the icon in the registry by adding the relevant registry strings to allow the function of the icon to work.

This is almost a Must Have app.

I have used it many times to unlock or delete files and folders.
