incompatible ink epson dx5000 all in one

    hi everybody
ive got an epson dx5000 all in one printer, just replaced all 4 of the ink crtridges with the same clone ink that i always use (phoenix) and its saying that the ink is incompatible, although its showing that they are full.
does anyone have any suggestions, our lass needs it working tonight.
    thanks for any input
    joe

    printer companies make me puke

just to let others who may have the same problem know how i went on.

i reloaded the drivers, that somehow changed my printing preferences into German and still haven't managed to put them right, even after reinstalling the drivers again from disc and from downloads.

as for the ink, i basically refitted them one at a time, so went through the installing new ink thing 4 times.

everytime you do it, the printer uses about an eight of the ink from each cartridge to charge it. but it still works out cheaper to buy the fake stuff, at ?5 a set compared to epsons own at about ?28 a set. theirs nothing to say that it wouldnt do the same with originals though.

the printer companies make me puke, if they didn't charge a million pound a gallon for the stuff id buy original.

I've had a similar problem with an Epson.

I managed to work around it a follow:
put in your old original empty Epson cartridges if you still have them, if not try it with your clone cartridges that did work
the printer should recognise them as originals but show up empty still oon the print monitor
then, through the printer utility program tell it you want to change cartridges, and it will move the cartridges into the change position as normal
then switch off by pulling the power cord out of the printer (do not press the off button as this will move the cartridges into an inaccessible position.
change the cartrdiges with the printer switched off, close the clipps and cover
switch the printer back on - it will not realise that you have changed the cartridges, so will not check the new ones, it will however charge the ink and show up full on the ink monitor.
