Have a look at this technical review on bcchardware

This technical review could be really useful for you and includes an option to download and install any missing drivers. The discussion covers connection between laptop and lcd via usb2.0 or vga methodology - just to give you something else to consider!

i was having trouble myself mate but managed to sort it by , updating my drivers on my graphics card, made sure my laptop and tv were turned off before i joined my vga cables , and audio cable , switched both on and bingo also you can press the fn key and f4 keys at the same time on your laptop this chooses what view you have on your lappy and tv , make sure you use screen 2 in your display properties , and dont tick the box that says " extend my windows desktop on to this monitor " unless you want to use your laptop screen and tv screen together .
