you need to see what speed the ram is also what your motherboard will support. Either look in manual or google motherboard model number

Simply You just open PC case. ID is usually printed on the motherboard.

          Software for testing Your PC:

          Code:

I'd recommend everest as just pointed out in the link above, gives a detailed breakdown of the raw components on your pc.

the easiest way as was mentioned above is to visit crucial a small download will scan your pc and tell you what your board will take and the type of ram needed failing that there is a piece of software SIW which will break down your pc into its component parts.

if your confident with a screw driver, pop the side off the side of your computer and look at the motherboard and see if it looks like this one....

                  MSI P4M890M - INTEL - Motherboards - Peripherals - Reviews - PC Authority

the motherboard id u gave is what i have managed to trace back to that link.

if its excatly the same as the picture or has markings on the board that give u the same model number then its DDR2 ram that you want for your system ... and you can order it from here...

                  Good luck

the easiest way is to visit RAM Memory Upgrade: Dell, Mac, Apple, HP, Compaq. USB drives, flash cards, SSD at Crucial.com and click scan my system, they will give you decent priced ram module's or use the info from the scan and look on ebay..
