Urgent Help pls With dell mini

My sister has somehow ~~~~ed up her laptop. Its a dell mini notebook. When you switch it on it says:

PXR-E61: media test failure, check cable
    PXE-M0F: exiting PXE ROM
    Operating system not found

IS there anyway to get it all back, without reinstalling windows. Idont know how she managed it but its all gone. I need to get it all back programmes and reports and all sorts pls.

    Any help much appreciated

Hello There, whenyou start it up you could try keeping your fingure on the f8 button and saying yes to starting up in safe mode.then restart as normal.Good luck

Know idea(it could be the mini 10v) it just says dell mini intel atom 1.6, 10gb, theres no cd drive just 2 usb and a network connection. Its just over a year old. I would rather not format the f**ker. Theres aload of emails and applications she needs that she cant remember and wont be able to get hold of again.

Thanks HMC I will give your idea a run later but that I think it means formatting drive. I would rather leave that as the last option.
