viewing blocked sites

work have setit so i cant go on hotmail and facebook is there anyway around this like going on through other websites a lad i sit next to can go on and says its via a website but the dick wont tell me in case i et caught n it goes bk on his toes nice lad i knw thanks in advance

our work has a thing called websense and it blocks all these sites out to ,it wont even allow you to update msn live or ccleaner ,you can use remote pc which lets you use your on computer at home tho ,he may be uisng a proxy server but we cant use that either as its blocked too

yeah, you need a 'proxy' website. somewhere u go, then put the web address and it forwards you. However, any decent IT department should have these blocked OR be watching you , google proxy websites then try find one thaty works : proxy website - Google Search

Try to use "anonimizer" services which supports Java and cookies. Just type this word in google.

hi, this is the other site works, if so, look in your parfeu add to your browser, but if it does not work, look in the folder of your windows is to say x: windows \ system32 \ drivers \ etc you'll find a file called hosts, you open it with Notepad, from the first line you looking for the address of the site is blocked, you will find the bottom, and you then you delete the record your manipulation

All of the blocking apps like Websense or even Fortinet rely on you using that box as a gateway. You are given the gateway via DHCP.

That gateway is hardly ever going to be the only gateway out of the company/school. You need to find another way out to the internet, on the local network, that bypasses the "original" gateway.

Sometimes this is as easy as trace routing out to an external address and using the address that is one hop past the gateway, sometimes it's a bit more difficult!
