Help me please!! dell laptop freezing randomly

Hello everyone, I love my computers especially when i got my Dell Latitude for sale in the local gadget shop! i am experiencing a strange problem, my computer keeps freezing at random points i could be doing anything from browsing the internet, watching a movie or using Word its completely random. i know the computer is a few years old but its just had a new 1TB hard drive the official windows 10 pro package literally a few days ago. So please if anyone could help me give me some suggestions or answers for fixing my problem it would be great!! i love this laptop and would like to keep it running..Thanks in advance

I was given a laptop that had the same issue you experience with yours.
Turns out the previous owner had installed windows 10 on it but the processor could not handle it and it heated up very quickly and would freeze or even shut down randomly.
I cured it by wiping the drive and installing windows 7, ever since then it runs as sweet as a nut.
BTW the laptop I was given as junk was also an "older model".

If your laptop is not getting hot i would suggest checking the hdd with crystal disc info free.....Many computer shops change hdd,but use 2nd hand drives,ok if you do a hdd scan first on them,If the laptop is getting hot ..common on amd chips,The fan may need cleaning...
