    system restore failure

    was wondering why my laptop fails to do a system restore??any suggestions welcome

        safe mode

        i run vista on my laptop and do a restore in safe mode it allwas turns out allright hope this helps you

          what o/s are you using and also have you tried a malware/virus scan.

            i m on vista and i ve done a malware scan with malwarebytes.....spybot ...and norton 360 but still no joy...havent tried to do it in safe mode yet tho but when i do it in normal mode it fails every time .....tried a disc clean but still no good...any suggestions most welcome

              i found the following it refers to system restore failure with pc running norton a/v it might help to solve your problem.


              "Restoration Incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored . . . "

                thanks for your help ,i didnt realise your anti virus could affect your system restore.....i tried a restore in safe mode(automatically turns norton off) and it worked!! wat a load of crap norton is,i cant believe i ve just paid to resubscribe to it recently....think i m gonna look for some other anti virus next time.anyways thanks for your help,it s much appreciated

                  Never use norton me always thought of it as " a bit shite". I use bitdefender. And it is fair cheap on fleabay and the like. Yet I find very good just renewed again after 2 yrs
