Access denied before instalation of Windows 7.

    Hello guys,

I just built my new PC. I'm currently trying to install Windows 7, but it won't recognise my HDD (BIOS does see it). I read that the solution might be found if you wipe the HDD from troubleshouting (provided before the install when you click "Repair my PC" or something), BUT when I try to wipe it I get the message "Access Denied".

    Thank you.

Right click folder and click on properties then security tab check user group or names to see permissions check allow full control box and see if you can access the drive.Have you got it in bios as c drive? Have you formatted the hdd?

The thing is I don't have any OS installed. I just changed a setting in the BIOS. Gonna try again...

Don't forget to create a partition & format it before you try to install. When the drive options come up on the Windows 7 installation click on 'advanced settings'. That should give you 'New' & 'Format' options.
Windows 7 also needs a system reserved partition that should be created automatically when you click 'New'

            How have you got on?

How old is your motherboard. The issue is more than likely driver related.

You would have to insert the required driver to your windows build. Or download a more recent copy and just use your key.

The other thing to consider would be file system type

i have a similar problem like year ago and it was ram memory related. One of the memory in the banks was defective.
