    problems with speakers...no volume

Hi, I'm using a Acer Aspire AX3810 computor with viewsonic monitors. The system is all very new and I am not getting any volume. I'm using headphones, but there is nothing coming from either the headphones or the speakers. I've checked the volume and its on full - I can't think of anything else can anyone please please help...

    thanks

A few people around me have had similar issues recently and they fixed it buy downloading a different driver from the soundcard manufacturers website...

Couple of things to check, right click speaker icon and open volume controll, check nothing is muted, also make sure the soundcard is set as the default sound device, I had a problem after updating my ac79 drivers where my pc had then set "tunebite" as the default audio device so I got no sound from speakers
          sigpic another happy customer

Sent from my keyboard using fingers to type

Thanks for all the above - I am not very techi and do not have a clue about what the sound card is let alone where it is but I tried a different monitor that has a lead that connects the monitor to the computor (for volume, speakers etc)and just the head phones worked..... this has confused me even more.... what do I do?

are you pluging your headphones into your monitor or the back of your pc (green socket) ?

now we have established the headphones are not faulty. plug them into the green socket on the back of your pc. then play something on your pc.make sure your volume isnt muted. then report back

go to device manager to see if your soundcard is disabled .

                      if using windows xp

control panel/ system /hardware/ device manager

Everything to do with sounds seems fine - intel and realtek hd audio both show as working properly.
Is that work i'm looking for?
