      in playback in your default device do you have more than 1 option ? if you do try the other (s)

        Did that - where it gives an option to test also did that but still not working - thank you for all your help.. u being so patient...

          sorry for not replying last night but I went to bed. Is your soundcard onboard (ie part of your motherboard ) or is it plugged into your motherboard . If it is onboard have you checked to see if it is enabled in BIOS.
