Dell Inspiron 1525 CD/DVD Rom drive

Guys!My DVD Drive will not work.

I have tried every trick I know. Windows keeps giving me the same diagnostic,i.e my hardware is working fine.

But I got yellow triangle next to the drive in "device manager".

Does anyone know where I could a driver for this?

Already tried Dell's support site but no joy.

I even tried to do a factory reset but the hard drive has been changed on the laptop so there's no factory image saved.

    Hope someone can help.

if you know the make of the drive you might find it here.

                Computer Blu-ray, CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD drivers

dell is not the make of the drive, it should tell you in device manager the make and model.

Remove unit and firmly insert into notebook, maybe is a bad contact.
Remuve unit and try another one.
                  Check result.

                          Hi Jerrell,
Dell do not do a "master disk" as such but you should have got a set of disks with the computer.
                          the reinstall order is:
                          1. Load the Media Direct disk to create the new partitions
                          2. Load the os disk and follow the prompts
                          3. if you're installing vista, when you get to the screen that asks where you want to install Vista take out the vista disk and insert the drivers and utilities disk, then click "load drivers" them OK. Select the top driver shown and click "next".
                          4. Once this has loaded put the os disk back in and continue the install
                          5. Once finished you need to put the drivers and utilities disk back in and run the program.
                          6. Install all drivers that have a tick next to them.
                          7. insert the Media Direct disk and install that program.
                          8. Install any other Dell supplied software (assuming you want it on your computer)
It will take around 1.5 hours and will delete any data that is currently on the hard drive so back up anything you don't want to lose BEFORE you start.
                          I hope this helps.
If I have told you stuff you already know I apologise but I like to be thorough!
