- 7 characters when it requests for a bios pass and
- 11 characters when it requests for a hdd password

your service tag needs to have:

-7 characters for bios
-11 characters for hdd

yours is 6 characters so it's wrong, I'm not giving a generator alltough they can be found on google, I have my own reason and ebay is on of them.

if it didnt work does that mean i have to open it up and short something? it was actually the setup password. I cannot alter anything in bios

i have a dell latitude d630 tag number DH1DPD1-595B that the bios has a password on it does anyone know how i can get the code to go in the back door dell says i have to know who the original owner was and when i contacted the person i got it from said he was not the original owner any help is very greatful thank you
