Hi i brought my laptop last year of ebay, ive never needed to edit the bios until the hard drive died, the internal was dead when i brought the laptop but i use to set it when windows loaded using the windows time settings, now i have no windows installed and no access to set the time in the bios, i cant manage to install windows 8, can any one help me with this please, my service tag is: 3JCG66Y-595B

this password is only to get you into the BIOS
it must be entered in lower case
also try Ctrl+Enter
you could also try a usb or plug in keyboard
if your laptop is new it may have the 2nd generation of -595B which our calcs cannot do.

The Laptop is prob. 4-5 years old. And the BIOS Version is A17

I did as well the Ctrg. Enter but no succsess. So do you thing there is no other work around?

external keyboard is just a double check in case one of your password keys is malfunctioning

BIOS A17 is 1st generation so it should except the password
have you double checked your serial tag is correct
