    Does anyone now if it's possible to get broadband for a PC through cable for fr--?

      NO but you can get minimal broadband and use different methods to gain maximum speed.

                  Its generaly frowned upon around here to discuss cable modem hacks.

                  Google however isnt so moraly or ethicaly focused.
                  Im certain you can learn everything you need to know via google, looking for the "haynes guide to cable modems" would be a good start.
