    Win XP

    Hello all,

    I need your help with win xp. I am trying to format the c drive. win xp wont let me. i have tried everything posted under the sun.

    any help how to format this drive? there is no password or admin. it is 160 GB drive.

    Hello. Try it in DOS : "format x:" or in comter management : right click on computer and then manage. Michal

      Is your drive actually seen if not is it configured right as in master slave??? jumper pins, if Pata IDE.....if its just windows saying no and you can see the drive are you the administrator??? you might have a user account with restrictions check this in your user account propertys, you could always use a boot disk like hieren's boot c.d (a free download and very usefull for all kinds of stuff ) and format it outside XP
