internet speeds

hi ....i recently set up wireless connections for my g f and her mum .they live appox ten min s away from each other but my g f s internet speed is appox 9.5 while my g f s mum is only 2.5...both on the same virgin package .both from the same exchange...was wonderin wat other effect s have an affect on download speed /internet speed

Get her mother to ring VM. The exchange part isn't important, the fact they are on the same package is the important part.

If she's paying for 10MB connection and only getting 2.5 VM may have to look into this and boost or reduce her signal. Too strong a signal can have the same effect as too weak a signal.

However this is based on them both having a cable connection. If they get broadband via telephone line then the distance from the exchange does matter.
