    Laptop screen temperamental and flickering

    Hello
Can anyone help? My laptop screen will only work at a certain angle, once you move it the screen goes blank, very annoying. I think its a loose connection, any ideas on how to resolve this?

    Thanks

Try pressing the back of the screen to see if it makes any differnce to the picture. I would say the ribbon cable at the back of the lcd panel must be loose.

        HI
I have a similar prob with my laptop. Seems to go dull after a while then after moving the screen a few times appears to be normal. New screen or cable?

Thanks for the help. Is it something I can repair myself or will I have to take it to a shop? Not very good with pc's! Is it an expensive repair (ball park figure)? Laptop only 16 months old.

You must disconnect the laptop LCD and check the cable and connectors between the LCD and motherboard.
              And it`s not a ribbon ! 90% it`s a cable with wires ...

                thanks

Think it will have to go to someone who knows what they are doing to get fixed.

Any idea what would cause the screen to do this?

Sorry to throw a spanner in the works, maybe the laptop inverter has gone?
