    Avast Anti-virus

hello all, i downloaded the avast anti-vir and when i boot it up it tells me .....
"avast has detected a virus in the operating memory so it needs to scan all the files in the boot phase"
when it does this it finds 249 malicious files!!!! im not sure what to do with these files, sometimes only "ignore" will work, do i delete them? im just a bit nervous deleting files when i dont know what they are meant to do, especially when they are in the operating memory...ive emailed avast but nobody has got back to me yet, if anyone knows what to do pleeeease send me a message
    thank yoooooo

Go to Malwarebytes website and download the free copy of Malwarebytes anti-malware. Install it and run a scan on your machine whilst you wait for a reply from the specialists from avast. Without more detailed information as to the files then that's the best advice I can give.

Aways make sure you back up important info before you make changes too your machine, avast should show you the names of the files it's deleting, i would reckon allot of the files are the same name as virus and malware can and tends too recreate many copy's of itself, write down the names and google them too get an idea if there infected files or just standard startup system files

this may scare some people but some online anti virus stuff that you download carries malware or spyware with it which is why alot of people get infected and dont even realise it some come with the terms and conditions making them look real and bang infected with a worm im no computer expert but i have read a few mags and stuff in my time when you download these progams even going to a safe site is not always giving you safe programs and some antivirus products dont even do what there soppose to do just giving some helpful advice.

advice is appreciated, but from personal experience I can vouch for avast. The ones you need to look out for are the pop-ups that look as if they're scanning your computer and then telling you your computer is full of viruses. These are just tricks to get noobs to buy their supposed anti-virus software that actually does nothing.

you should let avast do a boot scan then when it finds virus just keep pressing 1 to delete it does this while in dos mode safe as houses and it will find all of those nasty little buggers
