    BSOD

    another laptop that doesnt like me.
    this one has just had xp installed on it a few months back, hasnt been used, had new hard drive installed also, was installing firefix when i got the blue screen
    now it will not boot up i am just getting writing in the screen that appears to be refreshing it self

    hheelllppp!!!

    whats the writing saying?

    Restart and enter the bios (usualy delete, f11 or f12) and look for something relating to boot order.
    You want it to boot your primary hard drive first.

    Try that and report back if its still giving you the media error.

      Sounds like you have the famous windows looping problem. Do u get a black screen with lots of white writing and menu options. Like safe mode etc ? Then when u choose any of the options ya pc just reboots and goes back to the beginning and repeats?
