Free black when monitor off

Hi
When ever i turn my monitor off by the switch button for a while and come back later to turn on monitor i see my screen black and my computer is running but its freez and background download and everything if down , must restart the PC to make it to work again

What graphics card do you have?
Have you installed the correct drivers for it?
