no cursoram trying to reformat

am trying to reformat my grandsons old comp(actually using a gen xp disc) formats ok copys files ok, but after 1st reboot i get to where i have to click yes to accept terms&conditions. no cursor to scroll down to,have tried tab button but when i use this it wants to exit setup. have tried various mice including usb. have also tried other OS's still no cursor.have looked in cmos all appears to be OK, mouse was working OK before reformat. any help would be appreciated cheers jim

is the cursor visible on the screen and that you cannot move it?

sorted!!!!!!!!! looks like every spare mouse i had was f**ked, borrowed one from a neighbour all workingOK all systems go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
