E-Machine E40 model 28

Hi can anyone help me at present my E-Machine computer to start it up I have4 to keep the button pressed in until it start,then all I get is a few beeps the cpu fan spinning mad nothing else happens,tried reseating memory sticks alas to no avail,please help thanks in advance Dragon

how many beeps did you hear ?

Sounds like a memory DIMM gone bad, or worse a faulty port

is it a old computer ? i had a emachines and it done the same thing as soon as it booted up it shut down again ,baffled me for ages then i decided to clean the fan it was clogged up with crap,prob solved it was overheating and shuting down ,worth a try m8

Would depend on the amount of beeps as to what motherboard.

As you have reseated the dimms, are these seated correctly? Are they compatable?
Could also be a graphics adapter problem. Does anything at all appear on the screen?
