    USB Stick

I have problems with USB flash drive. When i plug it in, I open, and when I copy a folder(containing files) to my HDD it just copy empty folder. What to do?

Seems the problem is with autorun.inf but i have format the USB and the problem continues.

    Thanks for any help!

Have done already m8. Nothing. It is not just one stick, one mine and another from a friend. Tried on two different comps, Virus clean.... It reported a virus first time but I cleaned and then format but nothing.

          Thanks.

If there is a autorun virus in your computer then formatting usb stick is meaningless mate. Because this virus copies itself rootfolder of all harddrives including usb sticks. When you plug into computer it will copy again even you already formated it. Don't you see hidden files even you already enabled to see "hidden folders and files" from folder options?

delete the auto run file. it is corrupted and after you replug it in it will create another one.

Autorun virus disables to see hidden files mostly. This is the clue to understand if this virus is infected or not. If your computer is infected and folders or files are hidden in USB stick then you are not able to see them. That was what I meant.

go to folder options > view
select "show hidden files and folders" and click apply. Do you see hidden files now (for example hidden system folders under C:\Documents and Settings)? If yes, that means not infected.

Once, my computer infected when ESET v3.0 was running and updated.

Then, this can be a hardware problem mate. Once, I had a USB stick (Chinese one) which copied many important files as corrupted. I got very angry and I destroyed it there immediately . I suggest to use always quality brands. What was the brand your USB stick by the way?
