    HP format problem

    Hi guys,
    I have a hp notebook with the dvdrom out of order...
    It has vista on it, and i want to do a format and install the windows 7 on it...
    Can i do the format without the need of a cd?
    And then install the windows 7 from a usb stick?

      the following link might help with your problem as to installing from a usb drive if installing from usb is supported in the bios, installing 7 will be a inplace upgrade without the need to format your hd.
