    Vga problem

Hi i have a old laptop that i am trying to work through my tv. I have plugged the cable from the laptop vga socket and plugged it into the tv. Everything shows on the tv so no problems there, its when i come to watch a video it plays on the laptop screen but not on the tv.

I was thinking its to do with codecs but it plays on laptop fine?

Do you have your display settings of the secondary monitor setup as a extended desktop or a clone? If its extended, maybe you just need to drag the video player window onto the secondary monitor. And what video software player are you using? VLC?

i got it sorted, basically i cant have the laptop showing on the screen and also on the tv at the same time to view a video, so i pressed for lcd only in the settings and laptop screen went off and it appeared fine in media player on the tv
