    boot disk

    i have just got my old computer out and set it up but when it starts up it tells me win 32 error. so i want to re-install windows . when i did it before i stopped using it i had to start with 6 boot disks then the windows cd.the problem is now i dont have a disk drive so where can i get a boot cd from (free) as im a yorkshire man.to pre-start my computer.

    what windows are you running. If its win 98 youve probably got no chance mate..

      Of course he's got a chance.
      WIN98 or any other one, he can make a bootable CD or DVD with any OS.
      He does not even have to make one, he can download it ready made from "somewhere"...
      What you can also do ssttaagg, go to a friend or a relative who has a PC, take your windows CD, open a CD/DVD burning software, tell it to make a bootable CD out of your windows CD and that's it, you have a bootable windows CD.

        has loads of original boot disks for Windows. However, it's probably easier to buy a set off ebay. Win95 and Win98 were all installable from CD so maybe it's 3.1 - but i'm not sure you'd get win32 error messages from that.

          sound more like install win3.11 (why 6 floppys) then use 95 upgrade cd sound like some old 386 or 486 that old ??
