    Compaq NC4000 wiring diagram

Can anyone upload, or tell me a source of a motherboard wiring diagram for an HP/Compaq NC4000 netbook please.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Hi MH, yes I tried that forum first, the file is corrupt it's a 2 part file and only 1 part present, also tried pdftown and manual on there is only disassembly guide, I need a wiring diagram for the motherboard.
The netbook just died on me, found a surface mount 5A fuse blown, replaced it and reassembled pc it just blew again.
Can't make out what it protects.
Fuse is on the underside of the board so have to completly dismantle pc and remove motherboard to get at fuse.
I will run a couple of leads from the fuse, and run it up from an external supply with current limiting, then remove bits one at a time to see when short goes.

5 amps is 'a lot' try ripping off the lcd display and shove a lcd /crt monitor up it's arse. Inverter arcing out to metal ground sheilds.

Would guess a capaitor is going dead short.

Bet you would rather do a reno heater now?

try disconnecting the cooling fan/ does it only blow when turned on or charging, if one of the batteries has gone for box of snot.

try running without the battery, just the mains power.

I have checked the inverter it has it's own 2A fuse, which is OK

I think you are right about a capacitor breaking down

Yes at least I know what I'm doing with a Reno heater resistor, thats why I need a wiring diagram

Battery is ok it has a built in charge level indicator

Cooling fan runs flat out as soon as you turn it on, then will not stop until mains supply and battery are unplugged.

Not knowing that particular device, just trying to help, wounder if it has a transister gone dead short making 5 volt fans run on 12 volt (whatever)

or look on ebay for one with a smashed screen!, swap guts over.

In fact, if you look harder, there's a link for the first rar file on the page. Look for a 0 and a 1. I downloaded both parts, but the PDF is just the service manual, there's no electrical wiring in it.

I'm also looking for this schematics, I also have a NC4000 with a motherboard problem: internal video doesn't work, but external does. Other than that, the notebook is perfect. I have an identical one, so I will try measuring voltages on both and compare, but that will be a pain...
