ONLY by using the inbuilt software that comes with it. I've recently had this where someone had used the built-in toshiba software to add passwords. lucky, when i got it he remembered the password and i was able to take it off.

you better ask your 'kids' if there remember it. Otherwise, you could try dismantling it, removing the cmos battery for a while, but i'm not sure this works

      toshiba a300 bios password

i took the cmos battery out but it did not make no difference. the password remains at startup, no effect, just detects the bios battery failure..

This might work (it's for the A200 but should be similar)

        Remove the battery
        Remove the memory slot cover
        Remove the memory
Look for a small 'W' shaped area and short it against the case.

          Each vendor can be different.
Do you know the make and model of the MB?
Try contact the support for both via email or phone.

Becarefull of ebay scammers selling online tools that the hardware companies can provide . (esp if you are under warranty.)

Damn, I think that you absolutely have to know the passwords.
            Sorry
