Auto shut down

Can any of you guy's tell me how to auto shut down windows 7. My laptop burns away all night and i'm being nagged about it.Found info for vista & xp but not windows 7 ultimate. Help appreciated. Thanks for replies.

if you are wanting it to shut down at a specific time you can set it in the scheduled tasks

I found a free application call strangely enough "windows shutdown timer". It said it was compatible with Vista but I've been using it on windows 7 for the last few months with no issues.

You could try Advance system care free version which you can configure to shutdown after it has optimised your machine and other tasks. I use to shutdown my machine and optimise at night.

why not switch it off when your finished with it

its a built in windows program that shuts down ur pc

Create a bat file

shutdown.exe /s /f /t 600 /c (timer)

and place it in the scheduled tasks

shutdown.exe /a (to stop shutting down)
