    System Restore Is turned Off

hi i cant get the system restore on my PC.I am using XP Pro 2002 Service Pack 3.I think the problem started when i enstalled Evidence Eliminator,i set the options on this programe and when i done a safe shut down i started getting errors, In all fairness the programe warned me that it may cause desktop problems,When i try to do a system restore it tells me that system restore is turned off,,How do i get it back on.Ive tried removing the Evidence Eliminator programe but its still the same

Go to control panel, open system icon and turn on automatic updates on system restore tab

Look on this site How to reinstall System Restore in Windows XP:. there are a lot of links on solving diferent system restore problems.
Here is also the link on how can you restore the registry to previous restore point, but please be carefull with this. How to recover from a corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP from starting
!!! First check the second half of the instruction on how to check if your previous versions of registry are saved.

if system restore was OFF - there will be no restore points from BEFORE you turned it on.

So, even if it's on now - there will be no points you can use, as far as i'm aware.

try enable it in safemode and make sure there's plenty of hard disk space.

That's correct, when you turn windows restore off in XP it warns that all restore points will be deleted.

Backup all data and reinstall windows... It will cost you less time than searching to find a way to solve this

                      Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SystemRestore.
If a "DisableSR" value doesn't exist, go to the Edit menu, select New, DWORD value, and create the value.
Set the value to 1 to disable System Restore or 0 to enable System Restore.

Go run and key in regedit. To edit the registry. Pls backup your registry before doing anything...
