    software startup problem

    hi lads,
i have a problem with a piece of software. it is not starting up for me. it seems to try to start up as it goes 95% of the way. ther is a particular piece of hardware which it recognises but then the fun starts. in order for this program to start it nees a third party piece of software called at&t natural voices. i think a licence issue with this might be the problem. it will not start without this....
is there anyway on the machine where i can see if this is the problem????
it does not give me any fault on screen!!
    cheers in advance guys.

What's the software you're trying to run?

Have you tried looking for a patch?

Sounds like it's failing a hardware check. As you suspect it might be a licencing issue. Think of it like Windows, a product key is used which is then tied to the machine. If you change the processor Windows won't work correctly, even if it's a straight swap.

Have you tried contacting the software developer? Claim you have taken over part of the company & are having system problems.

spot on mate. i contacted at&t directly claiming i had a failure and had to move the hard drive. asked him if i could have a licence reissued??
he told me almost exactly what you said. a moved hard drive will cause a licence failure. the answer!!! give us money and we will give you licences. worth a shot.
          cheers for the help mate
