my missus has borrowed a toshiba satellite L30-11d, thing was working, now when you press then on button, battery light comes on, hd light flashes on, i can hear fans starting up and hard drive doin something. then fans swith off and it repeats. screen does not light up at all (not even backlight) do not hear any beeps or anything else. i know its a bit vague, but does anyone have any idea's or pointers as to what could be wrong, any help appreciated..

Plug in an external monitor to see if it's actually doing anything when booting, maybe just the screen or inverter has gone on it. -
tried that, nothin on external moniter either
sorely tempted to get ma screwdrivers out and pull the cmos battery out...Comment

Hmmmm doesn't look good to be honest, but try reseating RAM, HDD, battery etc, or jut take them all out and see what you get (Leave RAM in for this one or put in a stick that you know works)Comment
