problems with itunes

i had to restore my laptop because of a bad virus which deleted all of my programs and data. i have downloaded itunes the latest version but when i sync my iphone it doesnt seem to transfer the music and apps from the phone onto the itunes program. is there a way to do this or do i need third party software.

You can try yamipod - it's free program to manage music on the iphone/ipod. Hope this helps.
