va250d hi grade laptop won't boot

    Hi all,
Really hope someone can help me here. I have a Hi grade va250d laptop, which powers on and the fan goes, dvd writer works, but no video out, unsure if the hard drive starts ( have tried a different one to no joy either). Soo far I have replaced the memory, cpu, and wireless card, still no joy. I note a lot of other threads via net relate to a graphics card, however im unsure how to remove that???
Is this the problem or is it something else.

Also I have another laptop (same model) that my friend kindly plugged a random charger into, and now that doesn't work at all. Any solution to either problems would be appreciated. I would ideally like to repair one, using parts from the other if possible, but unsure what parts would work or may be fried......thanks in advance

When you say you've plugged a "random" charger in, I take it the charger is not the specific one supplied with the laptops?

There are hundreds of different laptop chargers, all with different voltage and current ratings. So if you've used an incorrect adaptor, the likelyhood is you've damaged part of the power circuit on the motherboard.

Do the laptops POST (Power On Self Test) and/or do they beep when switched on? If the do, can you attach an external monitor to the video out?

    Hope this helps

    Rob

I personally didn't plug a different charger into the second laptop, a friend of mine, whilst i was on holiday, got impatient awaiting a charger coming from ebay, and tried her flatmates charger, which was of a higher voltage, and since then that laptop does not power on at all.

The first one, powers up, wifi lights on, fan spins, dvd drive works, but no bleeps at all????
I think it may be wise to take both to a proper computer repair person and hope that they can sort out either problems, I am just learning, I'm able to build pc's but laptops are a new area, cant do anymore damage i guess, but perhaps can't fix more advanced issues, to replacing the obvious parts.

        fuse

A tech guy at work, suggested that perhaps a fuse may of blown, with the extra voltage, however finding "that" fuse is pretty difficult, as soo far, the casing does not want to seperate from the motherboard, and I can't find anything with a step by step guide to taking this particular model apart...... very frustrating now

          external monitor

I tried the laptop with power attached to an external monitor but still no joy???? removed everything and no beeps, got a slight beep when the wifi card wasn't slotted in fully but that is about it really, sorry can't be more specific, just relaying what ive tried soo far

If the wifi, fan and DVD drive are operating, it's sounds like the main fuse is ok. This sounds more like one of the voltage rails has gone down and these are usually protected by a secondary fuse or fuseable resistor.

ive got this laptop for a repair job. when u turn it on, the wireless light comeons and doesnt start, no screen, no post, just black.
i pressed firmly round the front housing, turned off, then on and it worked. i heard its the graphics card, when gets too hot the solder comes away. ppl have placed new mobos in and get same prob after awhile. im gonna try that 2night.
