    router help please

    hi ive got a router running throu my modem when my son got his laptop on my computer runs slow and his run beeter than mine y is that is there somw thing i could do in the settings thanks

    I think it is computer problem and not router problem.

      If you are talking about webpages clear the temporay files if you are using IE.

      If you talking about computer like applications programs, then computer problem.

        connect you computer to router, then do a speedtest here.
        then disconnect your computer and do the same on the laptop
        check to see if speeds are same

          test to see if its your actual internet service. plug directly into the modem to see.

            if ur using IE on ur pc...try downloading a norma browser..
            like FireFox or Chrome...
            or try disabling BitTorrent Clients...

              Yeah I'd have a look at what the other computer is using the connection for, if its downloading lots of data it will affect any other PC on that Router.

                if he has a torrent file running and is not limiting its upload speed, it can really slow down your downloads.
                give us more details and the advise will get better

                    virus?

                    and ofcause check for spyware and or virus on the computer. AVG antivirus f.eks and download/run ccleaner: www.ccleaner.com
