Fujitsu Siemens Amilo with a very dark screen

hi all, first timer! I have a Fujitsu and the screen is very dark from the moment you turn it on, it is readable but barely. I am aware of the function button and screen brightness button, this obviously doesnt work. Is there anything else I can do to pinpoint the actual problem?

Got this problem once, try removing the battery and then back after 10 mins if not resolved try connecting a secondary screen to make sure there is no vga issue by pressing "Fn + F2" till you get some visual on the screen.

Most likely it is backlight on the lcd that stopped working. You can get manufacturer and the part number from the screen and get replacement on ebay for fraction of the cost. You can PM me if you need help disassembling it or installing the new one.
