Vista boot up

Hi,, I cannot boot up my laptop all it comes up with is File: CI.dll and Status 0xc000000e9.

I cannot even boot up in safe mode it just wont pass this screen at all..I cannot find my Vista recovery cd either BOOOO so am stuck!!! any one know how i can get it working again? ALl help greatly appreciated

You could try Starting your computer by using the Last Known Good Configuration feature
To start your computer by using the Last Known Good Configuration feature, follow these steps:
1.Start your computer.
2.press the F8 key.
3.When the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, use the ARROW keys to select Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked), and then press ENTER.

try and download a cd called 'hirens boot cd' and find that file and rename it with a .old extension, and then see if you can boot up ok.. worth a shot at least!

Have a look for the Microsoft ERD disks online (rapidshare etc) these are bootable recovery disks exellent for repairing startup issues. You can access system restore using them, without the operating system.

They also give you access to command prompt, explorer etc.

Assuming you have access to another PC that is.

The come in Vista x86 (32 bit) and x64 (64 bit) same for Win7.

Download the version you need and burn it to disk.

Sounds like your best bet, if you cant boot into safe mode its possible you have a registry issue and rolling the PC back with system restore should resolve the issue.

I just used one to resolve some boot issues on mine.

Oh once your back up and running - system image your PC, always a good idea if you dont have your install media, Acronis True Image and Norton Ghost are good bits of kit to have.
